Oris 200 question (Oris Horns)
Hi
Getting the horns this Saturday, will be using the horns with 2 REL Q200E subwoofers while the bass cabinets are being made.
I'm hoping this will work temporarily or will I have a gap in the frequencies the sub works between 25hz to 100Hz,what is the frequency range of the Oris 200, will be using Lowther DX3's.
thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

Exiting but it will not work...the horns do not go low enough.
For a successful and proper integration it is needed that the bass is able to play up to 200-250Hz and if possible with some dynamical feeling which slowish subwoofers can only dream of.
Subwoofers should only be used below 40Hz...

Oris 200 question
Hi Robert!
I think that 200 goes to 220Hz and just adding sub(s) will provide a gap in the system. :shame:
Build Compact bass enclosure and forget sub(s) (maybe just to watch movies)...

Gasper.

I thought that would be the case, need to sell some LV speakers before I can get the BD15's and all the bits.

Oris 200 question
Hallo!
Could You tell some details of Your measurement setup?
Distnce microphone to speaker, driving power, room size?
Looks pretty fine!
Best regards
Stephan
Oris 200 question
The measurement is done with with Audiolense DRC/digital XO. I use a mic from IBF Akustik. I haven't measured the distance, but I would guess 3.5-4m. The amps are a pair of Virtue ONE, one for each speaker. The room is 4mx7.5mx2.5m with the speakers on one of the short walls. My plan is to experiment with DRC/active XO, but so far I've only had trouble with my soundcard.
