Orelino's basic design... (Orelo/Orelino)

by Bert @, Friday, August 02, 2013, 13:05 (3914 days ago)

..is done and the sound is great!

Now I will have to complete things and make it all look real nice by giving them paint and some other futuristic design features. Until then you'll have to do it with these 2 pictures...

Width, total depth and height (wood section) are approximately 93 x 58 x 127cm

Cheers,

Bert

Hi Gasper,

What are the drivers in bass?

These are Beyma SM112 drivers (coated) which I had laying around and used for this prototype.

Orelino's basic design...

Hi Bert,

Doesn't the height of the bass horn leave the Orphean horn higher than your ears when seated?

Hi Steve,

Doesn't the height of the bass horn leave the Orphean horn higher than your ears when seated?

Yes, they are but that was never an issue.

The Swing, the Orelo and the REF2010 all have the horn higher than earlevel.

Cheers,

Bert

Bert,

Very nice!!!!

How do they compare, subjectively, from your Orelo effort?

Will you be open to letting us know the basic parameters as you did for the Orelo. I'm curious as to the design differences vs. the Orelo.

Hi Rudy,

Very nice!!!!

Thanks

How do they compare, subjectively, from your Orelo effort?

The biggest difference is more freedom of sound having the mid-high horns free standing and being more dynamic in the mid-bass due to the extra realised pressure with the phase plug and changed starting angle.

The Orelo will get a phase plug too and the horn will not be cut anymore and squeezed into the wings.

Will you be open to letting us know the basic parameters as you did for the Orelo. I'm curious as to the design differences vs. the Orelo.

Not for a while...

Bert,
What do you mean by a 'changed starting angle'?

Very interesting design...as usual.

What do you mean by a 'changed starting angle'?

Think as if you only make the horn mouth smaller leaving the rest the same...

Very interesting design...as usual.

Used principle is the same as the Orelo which is indeed very interesting.
