Hi Bert,
Referring to this post all looks okay. However, the IMG234.JPG used in there, also has a IMG233.JPG variant
on your server. That one was too large for filesize so it was ... made larger for length and width !
This, I think, explains why some pictures don't fit on even a 1280 screen. This most probably (and most often) was unintentional !
Wait a minute, I'll just paste in the 233 :

I just changed the picture to the same dimensions but with lower resolution (normal is 72px/inch). Perhaps that is your mistake?
