Dispersion Characteristics of Oris 150s (Oris Horns)
Hi Bert,
I believe I already asked this question a couple of years ago, but a search hasn't allowed me to find that old post and your reply. What can you tell me about the angle of dispersion of my Oris 150 horns? Is it frequency dependent?
My ears tell me it is substantially narrower than a typical cone in a box sort of speaker. This is one of the things I love about the Oris. There is much less interference from early echos off room surfaces. Also for those of us daring enough (or deaf enough 
)to enjoy using digital room correction, such as the DEQX, narrow dispersion speakers make great use of that technology.

Yes, it is frequency dependent. The highest frequencies drop down faster than the lower ones (almost exponential).
In the lowest frequencies, above 150Hz or so, there is still directivity with a maximum total angle of 90 degrees...
