Wierd xover point (Off Topic)
There is a post below "I'm in" asking about xover points. I had a strange experience with this crossing Altec bass bins over to my Oris 200 (AER) horns. I had to push my xover point all the way down to around 90 hz to get a seamless match. I confirmed this with 2 different xovers and I also measured the xover outputs with a VOM and signal generator connected to the input. The slope of both xovers I have is 24 db/octave. The bass cabinet is an Altec 515-8g in a BR enclosure with a 135 hz rectagular tractrix front loading the woofer.
The stock xover kit I bought (Welbourne Labs) came with a 220 hz xover point that did not work at all.
Any thoughts on what's happening? Tractrix attentuating this much?

Hi Jim,
Any thoughts on what's happening? Tractrix attentuating this much?
Such a system has a rising response, similar to what the Oris Ultra is doing and therefore you'll need to cross lower in frequency to balance (or EQ) the overall response. Nothing to worry about...
