Hello! happy new year everyone!
I am very interested in your horn loudspeakers and was wondering if you could provide me an indication of what i could expect in terms of frequency response in the oris line of horns.
I mean the seperate oris horns and what kind of rolloff and possible standing waves they would give with a perfect full range speaker.

If the horn is properly loaded with a suitable driver then their roll-off is 18dB per octave. The horns do not have weird standing waves compared to normal speakers and systems when the suggested phase plugs are used.

It is thrill for me to see that you could actually build a studio mixing and mastering (that is sort of what i do) system without a filter (xo) whatsoever.

No, the high frequency energy level is not affected by the Oris horns.

The plugs phase only align the high frequencies. Early reflections are not "present" in the lower frequencies, the higher frequencies of full-range drivers are more driective do due to their dimensions (wave lengths smaller then the cone diameter) and therefore do not "hit" the horn walls.
This is not 100% true over the whole frequency range but in practise the advantages weigth much more that the disadvantages in terms of clarity and sensitivity.

If you're looking for a monitor speaker then with the Oris horn and a good driver you'll have a very clear image showing exactly what you're doing behind the mixing table. All studio engeneers should use such speakers, this way I do not have to listen to their faults all the time, faults which they probably do not hear on their own monitors... :cry:

Thank you for your answers.
I am really exited about the whole horn concept.
Maybe I start with just one oris 150 and give it a swing in my schools anechoic room.

The Oris horns come in pairs....
Why would you want to give it a Swing if you can have a listen close by? Nunspeet is not that far away from Weesp.

the AER site specs tell there is still output at 80k hertz !!!!
but say at 20k hertz what is the - db point then?

I have no idea...
the AER site specs tell there is still output at 80k hertz !!!!
I can't measure that. My equipment is only good up to 22kHz and not calibrated..
but say at 20k hertz what is the - db point then?
That depends where you measure, as long as the mike is able to "see" the coil of the driver (sligthly off-axis) then its 0dB at 22kHz at my listening position.
Overall response would be -3dB at 22kHz I guess.
