back chamber (Oris Horns)

A guy I know has horns similar to 150's with Lowther Pm2a's ( i think) and
likes them open at the back I.E. no back chamber. Has anyone tried
this? What does the back chamber provide?

It privides proper loading of the horn (no cancellation). Without the back chamber or fully open will give a dip around 200Hz making its respons less effective down to 150Hz. Advantage is more "freedom" and less "closed-in" sound...
