BMS 4594ND vs 4592ND (Drive Units)

Hi Buzz,

Has any one used the new BMS 4594-nd on the Orphean yet? I am told that it
has a flatter response between the mid / treble drivers than the 4592-nd.
Is this because of the smaller throat diameter? Can any one confirm this?

I do not think that the frequency response will be so much different, as far as I know the same internal parts are used. The smaller throat gives more "compression" and a longer horn is needed for that. Not much of an advantage for better sound if you ask me.

Even thoughts on mating this new BMS with the Orphean horn is appreciated.

I will try it one day (just for the fun, not because it is needed). The BMS 4592 ND's are ruler flat on the Orphean's with their present filter and perform perfectly. Why change a winning team!?

nnew things are not always better, usually only created to fill the needs for certain applications.

Ciao,

Bert
